Army Lieutenant General, he was Chief of Staff of the NATO Command for Southern Europe and from January 2001 he led the Joint Command of Operations in the Balkans.

From October 2002 to October 2003 he was commander of NATO-led peacekeeping operations, in the scenario of the War in Kosovo within the KFOR (Kosovo Force) mission.

A commentator on geopolitical issues and military strategy, he writes for Limes, la Repubblica, L’Espresso and il Fatto Quotidiano (since 2015); he is a member of the Sci Committee.

Ukraine and the European and NATO institutions complain about the marginalization they have fallen into when it comes to peace, but they have never lifted a finger for peace.

Since 2004, they have done nothing but fuel conflicts, increase the continent’s insecurity, reject requests for security, boycott diplomatic initiatives, incite war, promote sanctions, block assets, sabotage infrastructure, prepare for war and support it with men and means, contributing to the decimation of the Ukrainian population and the destruction of the entire country.

All this is not only what Russia thinks, now we know that the United States thinks so too.
