THE GREAT BABYLON - THE WARNING

REVELATION 17, 18

" Come out of her, my people, so that you will not share in her sins.”

 

Some interpreters map them to great historical powers that dominated the biblical world:

1.Egypt *

2.Assyria *

3.Babylon *    The Fallen 5

4.Persia *     

5. Greece *

6. Rome *.The one still 

7.  A future empire - The New Babylon 

In that interpretation:

“Five have fallen” → Egypt through Greece

“One is” → Rome (during John’s time)

“One yet to come” → a future power

 The New Babylon.

The Core Warning

The real message of these chapters is deeper than identifying a specific nation.

The warning is about a corrupt world system built on power, luxury, and exploitation.

Revelation says such systems:

appear unstoppable

dominate world trade

influence political leaders

…but collapse suddenly.

History has repeated this pattern many times.

One More Detail Many People Miss

Revelation 18 says something remarkable:

“Come out of her, my people, so that you will not share in her sins.”

This suggests that the issue is not only political or economic.

It is moral and spiritual — a warning about becoming too deeply tied to systems driven only by greed, wealth and loore of power.
